union safety representation
Under the Safety Representatives and Safety Committee Regulations 1977, a safety representative is an employee appointed by the trade Union in consultation with the employer on health and safety matters. An employer has an obligation to consult with such representatives and (if they request it) to establish a safety committee to review such arrangements.
