associated employers

associated employers
Two employers where:
• One is a company of which the other (directly or indirectly) has control; or
• Both are companies of which a third person (directly or indirectly) has control.
"Control" means the holding of the majority of voting power at shareholders' meetings. Where two employers are associated employers, the transfer of an employee from one to the other does not break continuity, and employment with the first counts as employment with the second for statutory purposes.
