atypical worker
A generic term for a worker who does not fall into the traditional role of full-time employee, for example those who work part-time, at home or flexible hours. Atypical workers are increasingly being recognised in new regulations and legislation such as the Fixed Term Employees (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) Regulations 2002 and the Part Time Workers (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) Regulations 2000.
