EGM
Any meeting of the shareholders other than an annual general meeting. The length of notice depends on the nature of the resolutions being put to the meeting.

EGM
Extraordinary general meeting under the now repealed provisions of the Companies Act 1985. From 1 October 2007, under the Companies Act 2006 the term "extraordinary general meeting" is no longer applicable and instead the term "general meeting" is used to describe a meeting of company members, other than an annual general meeting.
