local development framework
A non-statutory term used to describe the portfolio of documents which includes all the local planning authority's local development and related documents. The LDF will also comprise the Statement of Community Involvement, the local development scheme and the annual monitoring report. It may also include local development orders and simplified planning zones. Together these documents provide the framework for delivering the spatial planning strategy for a local area.
