A self-regulatory agency established by the advertising industry to help maintain truth and accuracy in national advertising. The agency is managed by the Council of Better Business Bureaus. Among other things, the NAD:
•Independently monitors and reviews national advertisements directed toward consumers ages 12 and older.
•Investigates consumer complaints about misleading advertising claims.
•Provides a forum for competitors to resolve disputes regarding advertising claims.
