culpable homicide

culpable homicide
in the criminal law of Scotland, any homicide that is not by misadventure, justifiable or murder. It covers cases of diminished responsibility, e.g. defective reason short of insanity or provocation. It also covers cases where an accused has been grossly careless or reckless in a legal activity and caused death. See, for England, homicide.
