free movement of services

free movement of services
in the law of the European Union these rules are provided to allow persons to provide services to persons who are in another member state, for example, where a Mancunian lawyer wants to advise a client in Spain. There is a right to receive services as much as to render them. The regime governs economic activities for remuneration. The right to set up business in Spain to advise the client more conveniently would be dealt with under freedom of establishment. The rules apply to firms and companies as well as individuals. See Van Binsbergen v . Bedrijfsvereniging Metaalnij-verheid [1974] ECR 1299.
