King's Inns, The Honourable Society of

King's Inns, The Honourable Society of
the society formed in 1541, the Benchers of which are the governing body of the Bar in the Republic of Ireland. On completion of a course of education and training prescribed by the Society, a person becomes a barrister-at-law, is called to the Bar by the Chief Justice and is entitled to practise in the courts.
