Law Society

Law Society
the body that both regulates and controls solicitors in England. It was constituted by royal charter in 1845. It is responsible for the legal education of solicitors, issuing practising certificates and preserving minimum standards of behaviour. It deals with discipline. It also administers the guarantee fund for the benefit of the public. It administers a complaints system.
