Lord Chancellor
head of the English judicial system and an important member of the government, remarkably contrary to any notion of separation of powers. He sits on the woolsack when in the House of Lords. He has a very heavy administrative responsibility for the whole justice system in England, including matters such as legal aid and judicial appointments.
