exclusive
An agent, distributor or licensee has exclusive rights if only he has the right to perform the activities for which the rights are given within a territory - hence even the licensor is excluded. An alternative, allowing both the licensor and licensee to do an act (e.g. sell in any given territory) is known as a sole licence. Exclusive arrangements, excluding others from selling etc. are potentially anti-competitive and consideration must be given to the application of EU and UK competition laws.
