credit business licence
Under the Consumer Credit Act 1974, the Office of Fair Trading is responsible for the grant of licences to those involved in consumer credit and consumer hire agreements. Potential licensees include consumer credit and consumer hire businesses, credit brokers, debt counsellors, debt collection and credit reference agencies. Canvassing off trade premises may only take place within the terms of the credit business licence.
