substantial part
Under the Copyright Design and Patent Act 1988, copyright infringement covers not only copying (primary infringement) but also knowingly dealing commercially in infringing copies (secondary infringement) as well as assisting in primary and secondary infringement. Copyright may be infringed by copying all or a substantial part (judged in terms of quality and quantity) of a work. Certain copying is not infringement i.e. if for private study, criticism or fair dealing - e.g. for pure research.
