A will; the most recent will created by a deceased person; traditionally, the word “will” referred to the disposition of real property and the word “testament” to the disposition of personal property.

last will and testament
An old-fashioned term for what is now usually called just a "will," which is a document in which you state who should inherit your property, direct how to pay debts and taxes, and name a guardian for your minor children in case one is ever needed.

   a fancy and redundant way of saying "will." Lawyers and clients like the formal resonance of the language. Will and testament mean the same thing. A document will be the "last" will if the maker of it dies before writing another one.
