An injured claimant who, after being compensated by an insurance company (the subrogee), gives the insurance company the right to collect a claim against the third party that caused the injury. (See also: subrogation)

subrogor
n.
   a person or entity that transfers his/her/its legal right to collect a claim to another (subrogee) in return for payment of the subrogor's expenses or debts which he/she/it claims. Thus, a person injured in an accident (subrogor) is paid by his/her/its own insurance company (subrogee) for the damages, and then the insurance company sues the party who apparently caused the damages.
