EU Service Regulation

EU Service Regulation
Council Regulation (EC) No. 1348/2000 of 29 May 2000 on the service in the Member States of judicial and extrajudicial documents in civil or commercial matters is a European Union Regulation in the field of judicial cooperation. It establishes a procedure for the service of documents via designated "transmitting agencies" and "receiving agencies" in Member States without recourse to consular and diplomatic channels. The regulation applies to all EU member states. (Note that although the regulation is not directly applicable to Denmark, from 1 July 2007, it was effectively extended to Denmark by a separate agreement between the EU and Denmark.
