European Commission
The rules of competition of the European Union are enforced by the European Commission, the executive arm of the Community. Commissioners are appointed by Governments of member states and the Commission is based in Brussels. Directorate General IV deals with competition policy.

European Commission
The main executive body of the European Community. It proposes, administers and enforces Community legislation, and consists of members appointed by common accord of the member state governments. The Commission is headed by a President and 30 commissioners divided into 23 Directorate Generals.
