global bond
A single and temporary bearer debt instrument evidencing an entire issue of Eurobonds. Global bonds are used in Eurobond issues to meet the US securities law requirement that bearer bonds remain locked up for a period of 40 days and also to provide sufficient time after the issue of the bonds for definitive bonds to be security printed.
