golden formula

golden formula
A trade union or other body organising industrial action will usually incur civil liability in tort unless the action falls within the golden formula, that is, it is taken "in contemplation or furtherance of a trade dispute". Under TULRCA there are also other conditions that must be fulfilled before the union can take advantage of civil immunity.
