OTC Bulletin Board (OTCBB)An electronic quotation service regulated by the US National Association of Securities Dealers that provides real-time quotes for over-the-counter equity securities. The securities quoted on the OTCBB include non-US equity issues and American Depositary Receipts. Securities are quoted on the OTCBB at the application of OTCBB market makers, and a company wishing to obtain an OTCBB quotation must request that a market maker make an application. Issuers of OTCBB securities do not have to pay fees or make filings with the OTCBB, but they must comply with the periodic reporting requirements under the US Securities Exchange Act of 1934.For further information, see the OTCBB website.+ USAOver-the-counter Bulletin Board Market, Also known as the OTC Bulletin Board. An electronic screen-based market maintained by NASDAQ for equity securities that, among other things, are not listed on NASDAQ or any primary US national securities exchange. Companies do not list on the OTC Bulletin Board; rather, FINRA members may post quotes only for companies that file periodic reports with the SEC or with a banking or insurance regulatory authority.
