1) See secondary information provider. The trustees of an occupational pension scheme must put in place and maintain a statement of investment principles (SIP). This must set out the basis on which the trustees plan to invest the scheme assets. There are detailed requirements for the contents of a SIP, set out in section 35 of the Pensions Act 1995. The scheme's sponsoring employer has a right to be consulted on the contents of the SIP, and any revisions the trustees periodically make, but may not dictate the scheme's investment policy.Related linksmulti-employer scheme (multi-employer pension schemes)3) Strategic Infrastructure Partnership (SIP)an arrangement between the public sector and a private sector partner, intended to address a series of infrastructure issues or projects over a period of time. It may be a joint venture or be established by contract. The private sector partner or its supply chain will provide the works and services required by the public sector. The two most obvious examples of SIPs are the LiftCos set up as part of a Local Improvement Finance Trust initiative and the Local Education Partnerships set up under most Building Schools for the Future projects.
