statutory adoption leave

statutory adoption leave
2) A period of adoption leave granted by statute to an employee with at least 26 weeks' continuous service who adopts a child through a registered adoption agency. It consists of 26 weeks' ordinary adoption leave (OAL) and 26 weeks' additional adoption leave (AAL). An employee may qualify for statutory adoption pay, depending on salary and length of service. Only one adoptive parent per couple may take statutory adoption leave (the other parent may take statutory paternity leave).
