Neither of these terms are the same as an obligation to do something or to ensure that something is done.
• A best endeavours undertaking suggests that you must do what is commercially practicable. However you do not have to take action if it would lead to financial ruin or would undermine the commercial standing or goodwill of your business.
• A reasonable endeavours undertaking is less onerous. Here you must balance the duty to use reasonable endeavours against all relevant commercial considerations, including cost.
• All reasonable endeavours is a middle ground between best endeavours and reasonable endeavours.
