Companies Acts
the Acts that provide the statutory framework within which companies operate in the UK. The principal Acts are now the Companies Act 1985, the Business Names Act 1985, the Company Securities (Insider Dealing) Act 1985, the Companies Consolidation (Consequential Provisions) Act 1985, the Insolvency Act 1986, the Company Directors' Disqualification Act 1986, the Financial Services Act 1986 and the Companies Act 1989.
