Comptroller and Auditor General

Comptroller and Auditor General
head of the Exchequer and Audit Department and a parliamentary officer. The Comptroller's main function is to scrutinise public accounts to ensure that money is being spent as Parliament authorised. The holder of the office is paid from the consolidated fund. An annual report to the Committee on Public Accounts has to be made.
