Court of Arbitration for Sport

Court of Arbitration for Sport
(CAS)
an extrajudicial forum for the adjudication of sporting disputes. Established in 1984, it sits in Switzerland It operates under Swiss law unless the parties agree to the contrary. Financing of the court is arranged through the International Council of Arbitration for Sport, which is designed to act as an independent buffer between the Court and the International Olympic Committee, which set it up.
