jurimetrics
the application of science to the law, in the sense of measuring by mathematical and statistical methods the outputs of the legal system or the system itself. It includes among its concerns data retrieval by electronic means, such as LEXIS and Westlaw, the formulation of equations to forecast legal outcomes. Expert systems probably also fall within its ambit.
