summary financial statement (SFS)
A shortened version of a company's full statutory accounts. An SFS includes a summary auditors' report and, in the case of quoted companies, a summary directors' remuneration report. All companies which have had their full accounts audited have the option to prepare and distribute an SFS (in addition to full statutory accounts) to any person entitled to receive the company's accounts provided they have agreed to receive an SFS, instead of the full statutory accounts.
